Neuse Colony Spring 2023 Newsletter

May 30, 2023

Spring greetings to the Neuse Colony community! What a beautiful time to enjoy the river and lake trails while taking in the natural beauty and wildlife in this place we call home!

Since our meeting in February, the Board is excited to have completed the lake and river bridges railing replacement. Both a safety and atheistic improvement! We are also thrilled to have the 40 year old gatehouse roofs replaced with updated and durable metal roofing, and all gate opening systems and hinges have been replaced.

Pollen has settled and with the new roofs in place, power washing of gatehouses, mailboxes and signage will be performed very soon. This will be followed by any necessary painting and repairs. In addition, rotten railing on the dam in the Estates will be replaced and all railing will be paint-stained to provide a clean, uniform appearance.

Take a moment to visit the cul-de-sac on Jasmine Drive. This area has been used as a loading and staging area for paving and landscaping for years. It’s quite an improvement! We will be using this model to address the remaining cul-de-sacs in the neighborhood.

With Summer soon to arrive, kids will be out and about enjoying the warm weather. Please use caution and observe the speed limit while driving in our streets. In addition, please be reminded that golf carts are to be operated by licensed drivers only. Carts should be registered and have the decal visible on the windshield. Please contact CAMS (Kristin Hoffman) if you have not registered your cart.

A couple of reminders:

  • If you are planning any changes to the outside of your property, remember an Architectural Request form must be completed, submitted to CAMS and approved prior to start.
  • Please keep all trash cans and yard equipment out of street view. On the evening prior to collection day, please keep cans safely out of the road, and return the following day.

On a final note, we appreciate your patience and any inconvenience experienced as projects are implemented and hope you are pleased with the end result.

Thank you and stay safe,
